Meet our Teacher: Jake Haber

Jake Haber is the Lead Pastor of Aldea Spiritual Community in Tucson, Arizona, an

inclusive, interfaith community centered on the conviction that we can take spirituality

seriously without taking ourselves (or our beliefs) too seriously. His work explores what

spiritual community can look like beyond dogma: creating spaces where people can

belong before they believe, remain curious rather than certain, and draw wisdom from

across traditions without needing to fit neatly within any one of them.

Jake’s approach has been shaped by contemplative Christianity, Buddhism, Non-dual

spirituality, mysticism, perennial philosophy, human developmental stages, and the

growing world of people who identify as spiritual but not religious. At Aldea, his work

focuses especially on the relationship between belonging, becoming, and loving: how

authentic community can support personal transformation, and how that transformation

can move us outward toward compassion and love in action. He is particularly

interested in this moment of spiritual transition: what we carry forward from our religious

traditions, what we may need to release, and what new forms of community and

spiritual practice are emerging in their place. His hope is to help create spaces that are

expansive enough for doubt, difference, wonder, and genuine spiritual connection.
